Hypotheses
Different Views:
1. Users will use the two views in combination with each
other to complete certain tasks. Regarding workflow and order
of use during a session, users will start with the bullseye view
and the go to the grid view.
2. Mapping tasks to views: users will use the Bullseye
view for browsing gain a sense of the overview of the collectionÑand
the Grid view for searching focus on a narrow parameter.
3. Time spent using each view during the time it takes
to complete a task will be approximately equal.
Ways to Navigate Time:
4. Users will use the calendar the most to complete tasks,
due to familiar icon recognition; users will use the drop down
menus less.
5. Users will use the features unique to the viewsÑGrid
view + Prev / Next, Bullseye + Hyperlinked DatesÑonce they learn
their functionality; times these functions are used, measured
in number of clicks throughout a task, will increase. ***Note:
we may choose to demo this functionality or decide to point it
out to users should they noticeably miss it during the completion
of a prescribed task.
Location and Friends Filters:
6. Users will use both filters throughout the course of
their session to complete their tasks.
7. The number of times a Location filter is used, measured
in number of times selected, will be greater than the number of
times a Friends filter is used.
Photo Bin Buttons:
8. Regarding Save Bin as Album, users will comprehend its
function and click on the button successfully to complete a designated
task.
9. Users will make use of the Photobin buttons more often
than resorting to these buttons on Album view or Single Photo
view popup pages.
10. When we have an opportunity to measure the use
of both of these methods, the time it takes to use the Photobin
buttons instead of the popup page buttons will be faster.
