..................................................................................................................................

The following results are complied from the participant satisfaction questionnaire and observations. Since we only tested three participants, we did not do statistical analysis.

Task 1: Planning an Event User Evaluation
Likert scale: 1 to 5
Observation and Other Comments
Selection process is easy 4 3 4

Users don't have too much problems finding an event/venue.

Selection process is straightforward 3 2 2 What can be done with a selection once the user decides he likes the event/venue option is the biggest issue.
The site provided adequate information to complete the task 3 3 3

You are sure that all needed information is sent to friends 3 1 2

One user could not even get to the List page. The problem is described later.

One user thought it would be useful to be able to add information about parking and driving directions, and because of this rated 1.

You would use this feature to email selections to your friends again 2 3 3 Users still like the idea of being able to send several options, but so far the designs/name are still not working out as hoped.
Parts of the steps that are confusing, hard to understand

One user found the entire process confusing. Another wasn't sure if he needed to save his selections to MySFnight or My Email list. He wanted to try MySFnight first, and wasn't sure if he had to register or not. Yet another user thought that "email list" is supposed to be a list of email addresses.

Users are still confused about the name for the "List of options to email to friends." One user just cannot figure out the legend of "Add to E-mail List" and the associated button, thinking it meant something else. Another breezed through because the he understood the icons.

Other thoughts and comments
One user thought that the text links should have darker color. Another user brought up the idea of having all the friends' email addresses stored with his personal profile so there is no need to retype things.

Task 2: MySFnight Registration Participant Evaluation Observation and Other Comments
Selection process is easy 5 4 1 One user rated 1, because did not find where to sign up. There are three ways of sign up SFnight
Selection process is straight forward 5 5 1

Again, the same user who could not find the way to sign up.

[P1] "emulates my.yahoo"

The site provided adequate information to complete the task 4 4 1 One user wanted to see more choices in preference selection
The site required adequate info in order to sign up. 4 5 4 Considered adequated.
SFnight provided adequate feedback once registration is completed. 4 1 1 They expect a page confirmation instead of going to MySFnight.
Parts of the steps that are confusing, hard to understand Two users thought it was difficult to find and access the sign up page. One user complained about having to read all three options (bar owners + network + newsletter) in the home page before selecting the appropriate signup link.
Other thoughts and comments

One user who found it difficult to find sign up recommended explicit SIGN UP message close to Login area.

Another user suggested the site to make suggestions based on the recommendations of others with similar profiles

Users wanted to see explicit confirmation of registration, such as a confirmation/welcome page.

Task 3: Make plans using MySFnight calender features Participant Evaluation Observation and Other Comments
Selection process is easy 4 3 4

Selection process is straight forward 3 2 5
The site provided adequate information to complete the task 2 3 4
MySFnight made it easy to plan 4 1 4

You would use this feature again to plan future events. 4 3 4
Parts of the steps that are confusing, hard to understand

All users found it difficult to figure out that one can transfer information from Editor's Picks area to MyPicks area.

One participant called Editor's Picks area "event calendar" even though Event Calendar also includes MyPicks. He expected to move something else. Another thought the two calendars looked too similar and therefore confusing. The same user said he was looking for the words "My Calendar" but couldn't find it.

But once the user figured out how to move selections from Editor's Pick area to My Picks area, the process became more straightforward. So perhaps need some of providing help for first time users, such as in the welcome page.

Users are still struggling with the two different calendars.

Other thoughts and comments Users wanted to see more than four weeks of information while having the ability to have at least a monthly view.

General Comments about the Site

Which aspects did you find particularly easy in this site?
Users found browsing events and signing up for MySFnight to be the easiest parts of the site. Another user thought the legends were not necessary since the icons made sense to him. One user commented that the individual features alone are not enough to entice him to become a frequent user, no matter how easy it can be to use features. The first thing he looks for is the quality of content. He is willing to put up with more usability issues if the content is good to start out with.

Which aspects did you find particularly difficult in this site?
Each user cited a different area of the site: the Calendar, finding the Sign Up, and adding events to email list.

Which functions did you like most
Most: Drop/remove events, emailing multiple events, the calendar for planning, the selections in the calendar based on preferences, and the change of colors for feedback.

Would you in reality create your personal page to have nightlife information at this site?
Most indicate Yes or high likely hood of doing so.

Anything that you think that is missing in this site
One user wanted Calendar/Recommendations for people with similar profiles. Another wanted information about bands and to be able to plan in advance for hot events.
