Sensing Part 1: Potentiometers

Description:
This Lab and homework is designed to teach how to use soldering to create physical electrical connections to new types of physical input devices with wires. The lab focused on using potentiometers as a source of analog input to use with the set of blinking LEDs to measure the output effects.
I did not have time to create a third potentiometer, so for this assignment I am using the combination of two potentiometers to capture analog inputs on the same set of LEDs (Red, Blue and Green)

Description
I opted to do #2, which is to control the brightness of the LEDs with 3 potentiometers (one for each). During in-class lab, we learned how to solder wires to the potentiometers, which were then used for this assignment. I kept the code mostly the same, but I increased the sensitivity threshold.

DESCRIPTION
In this lab, I soldered wires to potentiometers (pots) then setup my circuit/code to control one LED's brightness with a pot. Using a different code and the same circuit setup, I could control one LED's blinking rate with a pot. Next I modified my circuit to include 2 pots and used the code provided to control blinking rate and brightness independently with different pots.

For this lab we used potentiometers to control and speed and brightness of the LEDS. For the first part of the assignment I used 3 pots to control the brightness of each LED (code 1) and 2 pots to control the brightness and speed of all LED together (code 2).

DESCRIPTION:
We continued working with the three LED circuit we built for the previous lab. Analog inputs from potentiometers (pots) were used to change the blink speed and brightness rather than serial input (real-time). Pots are variable resistance depending on the rotation of the element. Analog inputs from the pots were read on the Arduino Uno and digitized (with 1024 resolution) which controlled the brightness and blink rate (we were given the code sketches).

The circuit exists of:
3 LEDs (R G B)
3 resistors (220)
3 pots
I made a circuit with 3 pots and changed the code so that I could adjust speed and brightness. Thus, 1 of the pots is used to change brightness and another one is to change the speed in which the LED blinks. A 3rd pot is used to change the LED that is affected by the other 2 pots (in brightness and blinking speed). The 3rd pot works like: 1024 / 3 = 3 different ranges, the first range 0 - 360 affects red, 2nd range affects green and the 3rd range affects the blue LED.

This lab worked off the original 3 LED circuit built in the previous lab, and introduced the concept of potentiometers to allow physical manipulation of the behavior of the circuit.  Potentiometers are an Analog electrical component meaning they have values on a continuous scale.  Potentiometers are variable value resistors that can change their resistance based on the physical arrangement of their components.  Typically this is done by a wiper which changes the amount of resistive material the current has to flow through.  Longer distances correlate to higher resistance
