I’m proposing 3 different ideas, and looking for someone to join for any of these! However I’m also interested in Xylophone Internet Protocol Idea with some modifications on functions of the device, and open to other ideas. Please let me know!

I think I will be working with Stuart Geiger for the midterm project, but wanted to post a few ideas that had been rattling around in my brain in hopes of crystalizing them for myself and possibly providing fodder for other projects over the course of the semester.

IPoXP: Internet Protocol over Xylophone Players

Group: Just Stuart, at the moment.  But looking for other people!

Objective

Implement a fully IP-compliant network connection between two Arduinos using xylophones, with human operators transmitting hexadecimal characters between Arduinos by striking designated mallets.  In doing so, create a human-computer interface at the most basic level of the Internet and make visible, audible, and tangible the protocological nature of computer-computer interaction.

Exoskeleton User Interface

Group: Erich, Alex, Walter

Abstract:

The goal of the system is create an interface between an exoskeleton for paraplegics and its user. The system should discretely integrate into the current architecture of the device or crutches while still providing full functionality. As easy as someone with full motor control of their lower extremities can decide to sit, stand, walk, speed up, or slow down, the user of the exoskeleton should be able to as well.
