Digital I/O with Arduino Boards + Diffuser

The Goal:
The goal was to allow users to control the brightness of LEDs through inpuut device, and diffuse the light in an interesting way. I created a diffuser out of plastic cups, paper and transparent gel balls used for decorating plants. The contraption diffuses the mix of colors well and reflects multiple times creating a nice effect. I modified the input to allow users to even decrease the brightness as needed.

Description:
For the second lab assignment, I set up a circuit to individually control three LEDs - Red, Green and Blue - and to mix their light to create all colors but black. In order to improve the light mixing, a custom skull-shaped diffusor was made.
The colors of the resulting skull light can be freely controlled by pressing the keys r, g and b to increase the power of the respective LED (red, green, blue) in 10% increments.

In this lab, we used pulse length modulation in order to simulate the dimming and brightening of the LED lights. The LEDs were placed close together in order to allow them to blend together better in the diffuser. The code was was modified to brighten the light-- the input letters correspond to the colours, with g bring green, r being red, and b blue. Entering the letters increase the wattage by 25.5 every time. This makes the lights seem brighter until it reaches it's max of 255, after which it resets to the dimmest power.

Description:
In this lab, I set up the Arduino Processor to accept individual keyboard commands to control the brightness of a red, blue, and green LED. I connected the circuits to the PWM input through 220 ohm resistors, used a "hairdo" cap and plastic cups as a diffuser, and provided code to change code in the following ways (taken from the Help section inside the code, which can be accessed from the Serial Monitor by pressing “H”):

Description
For the diffuser design, I decide to use Scotch tape to wrap around the light and create a cone shape (at least what I was aiming for). I was looking for a material that's not totally transparent, which won't have the diffusing effect, but transparent enough so that the low-powered LED lights can shine through. So Scotch tape seems like a perfect candidate. I experiemented with it and it worked.

Description
In this lab, we explored Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) as a means to "fake" analog behavior, and serial communication to control 3 LEDs with our Arduino microcontroller. The LEDs were connected in parallel.
