Project Members

Anya Kartavenko - Evaluation Manager

Anya Kartavenko comes from a graphic design background and has over 8 years of industry experience, primarily with healthcare information and online publishing companies, where she developed marketing communications in different media for physician, consumer, and pharmaceutical audiences. Versatile in many aspects of design, she is highly proficient with Adobe & Macromedia design software and with HTML/XHTML and CSS. Anya has an M.S. in cartography from Moscow State University, Russia, and an A.A.S. in Communications Design.

Rowena Luk - Design Manager

Rowena Luk, with a degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo, has over 3 years of experience in software architecture, hardware interfacing, and user interface design. She has exhibited kinetic contemporary sculpture in various galleries in Ontario, most notably at the international Contemporary Art Forum of Kitchener and Area in 2004. Core competencies include programming in a variety of languages, including Java, C, and C++, and interface prototyping using the Macromedia and Adobe toolkits.

Annette Greiner - Documentation Manager, Group Manager

Annette has 17 years experience as a technical writer and editor and 12 years experience as a web developer (primarily using PHP, MySQL, XHTML, and CSS). She has worked as a project manager and, most recently, as an interface designer for science-oriented web sites at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Annette has a degree in biomedical science, which informs her currrent work at the U.S. Department of Energy's Joint Genome Institute (JGI).
