Lab 1 - Blinking LED

Submitted by syh on Wed, 01/30/2013 - 15:42

Description:

Set up the Arduino and set it up to make an LED blink. Jenton helped me with understanding the wiring set up! To customize the code a bit, I changed the timing and added a second blink.

Components:

  • 1 Arduino Uno
  • 1 blue LED
  • 1 220 ohm resistor
  • 1 breadboard
  • 1 USB cable

Code:

/*
  Blink
  Turns on an LED on for one second, then off for one second, repeatedly.

  This example code is in the public domain.
 */

// Pin 13 has an LED connected on most Arduino boards.
// give it a name:
int led = 13;

// the setup routine runs once when you press reset:
void setup() {
  // initialize the digital pin as an output.
  pinMode(led, OUTPUT);
}

// the loop routine runs over and over again forever:
void loop() {
  digitalWrite(led, HIGH);   // turn the LED on (HIGH is the voltage level)
  delay(2000);               // wait for a second
  digitalWrite(led, LOW);    // turn the LED off by making the voltage LOW
  delay(100);               // wait for a second
  digitalWrite(led, HIGH);
  delay(100);
  digitalWrite(led, LOW);
  delay(2000);
}
