Input / Output Coincidence Lab Assignment

DESCRIPTION
The main focus of this lab was to combine input and output sensors into one artifact using things learned from previous lab assignments and homework assignments. I chose to work with a FSR as the primary input, and a red LED light and a piezo speaker as the primary output. 

Description:
In this lab, I decided to create a burglar alarm using an FSR, lights and the peizzo. I placed my wallet on the FSR and if someone tried to lift it, the alarm would go off with sound and lights. I decided to include lights as well to grab my attention in a noisy place.

Approach
For this assignment, I prepared 2 separate codes. Most of them are merged and modified from codes I submitted for previous assignments.

Description: For this assignment, I decided to use a force sensor for my input and a piezo buzzer for my output. I decided to use a piggy bank as the object to base the project around. I thought it would be interesting to provide positive feedback everytime a coin was inputted to hte bank. This thus creates a positive reinforcement loop and incentivizes someone to save money. The force sensor detects an added coin, resulting in the buzzer creating a noise.

For this week's assignment, I built a mixer with three units that control three tones that are played in sequence. Each unit consists of a photocell and an LED. If a finger is held above a unit, the led flashes and the tone that corresponds to the unit is played in the sequence; otherwise, the tone is silent. For example, if the finger arrangement was {finger, finger, empty}, the mixer would play and flash {tone, tone, silent}.

Description
Many galleries restraint people from taking photos with flashlights so I designed an alarm that'll set off if a flashsight went off. I used the photocell to detect the level of light and if it's above a certain value, speaker will sound in a two-note pattern and blue and red LED lights will be blinking continuously. They'll settle back to oirginal state after 50 cycles.

For this week lab we had to create an input output coincidence device. I decided to create a DJ scratch device. This consisted of a photocell and potentiometer. The record could be spun to “scratch” the sounds from the speaker. This was done by spinning the broken record and changing the resistivity of the photocell beneath the record. The potentiometer holds the record and also acts as the volume control.
Components

After completing two activities with the Piezo Buzzer, I was brainstorming for ideas of input output coincidence. I found a hand shape wooden carving in my shrine at home. I got the idea of turning this carving to a music box. Whenever I open the hand and expose the inside, it starts music. 

Description
 
In class we experimented with connecting the Piezo buzzer to our Arduino. We played melodies using serial communication and also attached a photocell to create a theremin.
