The following table lists
all of the violations identified in the individual heuristic evaluations, and
shows how they were combined. For each violation, the
problem number, violated guideline number(s), and severity rating as initially
identified by each evaluator are shown (LD = Linda Duffy, JAF = Jean-Anne Fitzpatrick,
SKJ = Sonia Klemperer-Johnson, JR = James Reffell). When a particular violation
was not identified by a specific evaluator, the cell does not contain a number.
In addition to the individual
severity ratings, the severity rating agreed on by the group of evaluators is
shown in the column labeled "Final". Note that some violations
were determined to be limitations of the prototype, rather than design issues,
based on the documentation provided by the designers. These violations were
assigned a final severity rating of zero. In
a few cases, violations were determined to be equivalent to previous items.
In these cases, no severity rating is given and the violation is not included
in the summary statistics. For reference, the individual
heuristic evaluations on which this compilation is based are available in
MS word format. Back to main Heuristic
