Overview
Ladybug is a toy that connects children to the outside world. Essentially, Ladybug is an enhanced camera device that is calibrated to give users a closer look at their surroundings. The user (ideally a child) finds something in their environment they would like to observe further. They place the ladybug over the item and look through the glass to take a closer look. Once the Ladybug is held steady long enough, it takes a photograph of the object and sends it to a tablet. The tablet shows the user their photographs in a scrapbook or map them for keeps.
Planned Prototype
The planned prototype will be a retrofit magnifying glass with a web camera, accelerometers and sensors o initiate a photo. The web camera will be attached to the magnifying glass and be attached to the arduino board. Ideally, if the arduino camera can hold the images, we'll sync up the arduino to bluetooth. The bluetooth will be hooked up to a tablet and once the images are received, will sync to the tablet. The tablet will have a website open that will continuously update as the images are sent.
