Lab 6: Roulette

For this lab assignment I wanted to create a game using both the Arduino board and Processing. I created the casino game roulette. A potentiometer acts as the on/off switch for the wheel. Bets are only allowed when the wheel is not spinning or has stopped.

Arduino code:

int potPin = 0;   // select the input pin for the potentiometer

ASSIGNMENT

Connect a Piezo Speaker and a Potentiometer and create and Arduino program to use the Pot value to affect the tone / rhythm of sound emitted by the Piezo speaker.

MATERIALS USED

1 Piezo Speaker, 2 Potentometers

Lab 5

This tangible interface serves little purpose except to measure the strength of pressure in sound. The Force sensor is triggered by pressure applied to the Piezo speaker thus intensifying or de-tensifying the sound.

Piezo!

I ran totally out of inspiration today, so my work is kind of simple. I use a potentiometer to make a circle on the screen bigger or smaller. Sound is used to give auditory feedback on the size of the circle.

Lab 5: Tweety Bird

Description:

I wired up a ceramic bird-shaped soy sauce holder to tweet when his head is opened and to light up the ping pong ball attached to his beak when pushed down. The bird rests on a sponge that is on top of an FSR that is connected to an LED in the ping pong ball; when the bird is pushed down onto the sponge, the ping pong ball lights up. Inside the bird is a photocell, and when the top is removed and the photocell receives light, the piezo buzzer inside the bird repeats a short bird-call-esque melody until the top is replaced.

Buzzer locker?

Description:

This simulates a locker in which that the piezzo-buzzer will beep in a higher frequency (means that it reads the correct values) if the right combination of values of potentiometer is set, else it will beep in a lower frequency (wrong value is read)
