Here you can see an improvised solution to securing a group of bicycles on the beach. There are no bike racks or structures of any kind anywhere in this area, and laying the bikes down in the sand is not desireable. To solve both of these problems, the bicycles were balanced against each other - this allowed them to stand upright (keeping them out of the sand) and be chained together, securing them.

A possible solution to this would be bicycle posts close to the beach enterance with a sign advising bikers that there is no place to store their bikes on the beach so they should leave them there.
