Adding a dedicated jacket holder to backpacks would be a great idea.  It would have to be something that was convenient to manipulate while wearing the backpack.

Solution:

Unfortunately this problem has already been solved many times over in many ways.  Bookmarks come in all shapes and sizes and they also come attached to books.

In this photo an armchair is used as a cat tree.

Solution:

One could replace the chair with an actual cat tree, however then you would lose valuable seating.  Some kind of chair/cat tree that did not show the scratch marks, and that could be cleaned easily would be a great thing!
