1. Bicycle Parking Space redesign

Two weeks ago, I went to a music festival in the Golden Gate Park, and found out stacks of bicycles everywhere - on top of trees, or right next to signs etc. Behind the scene, people might have had two reasons for making these piles of bicycles. First, there was no bicycles parking space. Secondly, they were worried about their bikes' being stolen. Especially by doing this, people could have prevented from happening the latter situation.

This picture illustrates well how the current "bike stand" looks like. However, this design only allows one bike at a time, and still remains safety issue. Therefore, to solve these problems, "ferris wheel-like" bicycle stand might be possible in that this would allow more than one bike in one place. In addition to this, it would be hard for a robber to take this whole ferris wheel-like stand with more than 4 bikes without being noticed by other people.

2. Trolley Bag redesign

At the airport, I was really amazed by how people were using their trolley bags for various purposes - for lifting arms to read a book easily, for reducing their burden of carrying more than two bags by putting one small bag on top of a trolley bag etc. However, since the current trolley bags don't support these needs, some problems were found out - the small bag kept falling down due to the slippery surface of handle, and the guy was changing the location of his arm quite often because of the uneven surface of a trolley bag etc.

Therefore, with a little hanger (foldable) inside of handle of a trolley bag, and cushion-texture surface (especially the side of a bag) might be helpful for people to kill their waiting time at the airport with pleasure.

3. Cal-Student ID card redesign

One day, I was on the treadmill and found out this girl, who kept her ID card right behind her iPod. To enter the RSF(Recreational Sports Facilities), students need to bring their student ID card and should carry it everywhere in RSF. However sometime it bothers me, because the card is so thin and small that it is easy to lose. When I saw her thoughtless act - keeping her ID card in between two tops by using the elasticity of the sportswear, I wanted to adapt her idea immediately.

Therefore, it might be useful to have a little paper clip behind the ID card. By "clipping" a t-shirt with this new ID card, students might not need to check where their ID cards are anymore.
