Assignment: Midterm Project 2: Project Progress Sketches

For our countertop project we have considered two possible interfaces. One interface is projected onto the countertop. This has the advantage of allowing a cook to interact with the display with sticky or messy fingers, at the expense of requiring available space on the counter. In a second interface, a more typical LCD displays information about the currently presented ingredients and known recipes that could be made with them.

These sketches show the simplified scope of this project. The primary goal of this interface to is help people with the task of recipe selection, rather than recipe preparation. While some people approach cooking with a recipe in mind, this system aids those who begin cooking without a well defined sense of what they want to prepare.
