Short Bio:
Erik worked as an Adjunct Professor at the iSchool from 2006 to 2011. Since then, he has joined EMC where he is part of a team designing a RESTful architecture for the Documentum content management system. Erik has 15 years of experience in Web technologies and architecture, and has been working extensibly with XML technologies since the language was created in 1998.

Jeroen van Rotterdam

Short Bio:
Jeroen van Rotterdam is the Chief Architect of the Information Intelligence Group, a 700 million USD division of EMC with over 800 Software Engineers.
Prior to joining EMC he co-founded X-Hive Corporation, an XML technology startup that created xDB, a high performance XML database. X-Hive Corporation was acquired by EMC in 2007. Jeroen has a Master's degree in computer science from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam The Netherlands and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Rotterdam Polytechnic School.
Jeroen participated in several XML standardization committees such as the Document Object Model (DOM) Working Group and the S1000D standardization committee where he represented the Dutch civil aviation industry.
