SFMOMA DIGITAL ASSET MANAGEMENT SYSTEM LOW-FI PROTOTYPE SCENARIOS (3/5/01)

SCENARIO 2: You are a Digital Imaging specialist at SFMOMA and you spend virtually 100% of your time creating, cataloging, and managing digital images. You process a high-volume of images and like to work quickly.

Robin in Interactive Educational Technologies needs Source Class images for a number of Richard Diebenkorn prints for a project called California Arts Revisited. She has requested that these images be created and that she can access them for her project. The Image Request number is 123.

Login to the Digital Asset Management (DAM) system to complete the following tasks:

Task 1) Review Image Request No. 123 and answer the following questions:

  • What artwork you need to digitize?
  • What class image files are being requested?
  • What the due date is for the job?

Return to the Home page when finished

END OF TASK 1 (stop)

Task2) You created all the required digital images for Image Request 123, now your task is to catalog them.

  • Begin the image catalog process
  • Indicate that you created each master image and each derivative using the same devices and the same settings
  • Indicate that you created master, source, and all browse class images, but not research class images for each object
  • Review the bit depth, pixel dimension, color correction, compression, and whether or not cropping was done.
  • Edit the values for bit depth for the Master Class image

Return to the Home page when finished

END OF TASK 2 (stop)

Thank you!
