Low-Fidelity Prototype and Usability Testing

Statement of Informed Consent

A group of Masters students in the School of Information Management and Systems at UC Berkeley are conducting studies to assess various designs for a Web-based digital asset management system.

If you volunteer to participate in this evaluation, you will be asked to assess a number of prototypes, ranging from low-fidelity paper, to Web-pages with a live connection to a collection of database tables, and answer some questions. The questions will be asked orally before, during and after the evaluation sessions. Your interactions with the digital asset management prototypes will be recorded via note taking, tape recorder and digital photography.

There are no direct benefits to you for participating in these evaluations. There are also probably no risks to you; you will simply be using paper prototypes and Web browsers on standard computer systems. We will associate your name with your responses to the prototypes you evaluate. However, we will not name you if and when we discuss your behavior in research publications.
