Description

Our team (Sarah, Simon, and Andy) explored using a gear setup to drive our cuckoo clock, however we found our initial paper design was far too complicated. We experimented by reducing the number gears, and looking at pulley-type systems. We settled on a very simple flexible hinge model. Our bird is mounted to a perch, and when you slide the perch forward the door rotates open along a horizontal axle. Sliding the bird's perch back towards you closes the door.
