A bench in my apartment complex serves as an "up for grabs" area to leave things; occasionally that gets out of hand, like with the mattress.

Our doors are heavy and don't come with a way to prop them open. I've been using the hook of a bungee cord as a doorstop.

The apartments have very tall ceilings, which makes storage very difficult to access for short people. To put things on the higher shelves, I have to stand on a chair and poke them with a stick to get them to stay.

Over-door hooks are not made for tall doors; to be at a useful height this one had to be taken apart and lengthened with picture-hanging wire.
