The Bouquet of Flowers

The idea of our 'Bouquet of Flowers' is to create a customizable and interactive bouquet. Thereby the flowers of the bouquet are the interactive elements. They can play sounds as well as change their colors.

The Technology

The bloom of each flower can be seen as a diffuser. A bunch of LEDs will be hidden under the petals. By turning the bloom, the settings of the LEDs change. Therefore we use a potentiometer that connects the flower stalk with the bloom. Some of the petals will be force sensitive. Several FSRs will detect if the bloom is being squeezed. If so, a piezo within the bloom will start playing a melody.

The Scenario

The user/customer of the 'Bouquet of Flowers' might have a preference for certain flowers or colours and thus wants to costomize the bouquet. So the color of each bloom can be changed according to individual preferences. Each bloom could contain a unique melody or the blooms could be able to create a single melody all together. We could also think of wheezing as a means of triggering the blooms to play a specific melody. The 'Bouquet of Flowers' can basically be seen as a valentine gadget. Except, the bouquet does not need any water.
