Concept Guides
Select a concept or word (or a very closely related set of concepts and
words) and
prepare a concise explanation using the following format as applicable.
1. Name(s) of concept (or word) -- and synonyms.
2. Explanation of its meaning(s), including noteworthy ambiguities,
controversies, and disagreements.
3. Good place(s) to start (article, book, encyclopedia entry,
section of book, webpage,...).
4. Biography: Brief history of the concept.
When, where, and by whom introduced. Who
developed it.
Principal developments and disagreements.
5. Classics on this topic.
6. How to find relevant past and current material. Literary reviews.
7. Relevant metrics (if applicable).
8. Open questions and discussion topics.
9. Bibliography, selective and annotated.
