Lake Merritt (wasn’t a lake, need copy of early 1870’s lithograph)
Port of Oakland, perhaps the coolest thing around (adults or kids)
Oakland International Airport, and there's a good museum website already.
Cemetary, the big one on the hill. What's more interesting than big lawns, and bodies under stones?
The Bridge. If you have to ask "What Bridge?" then For Shame!
Ferry Boats to San Francisco, etc. (Trains too? Freeways?)
Jack London Square (If not too upper crusty)
Chinatown
Theaters, especially "The Oak."
Historic 19th c. houses with activities for young people (field trips, museums, etc.)
West Oakland, historic 1930’s-1950’s sections. (Find one building or area to represent the "Harlem of the West Coast" (This would be hard, but a good glimpse at the historic "beauty" of some now rundown areas would be good.)
The Coliseum Photos before or during construction, links to the team sites. (Very Popular with young folks. 1966 is ancient history to them.)
Fruitvale (once had fruit trees) and the Ostrich Farm (will have an ad they ran in the old days)
