Dishwasher
I noticed that the way dishwashers are set up allows a lot of different configurations for adding dishes. However, it also lets people who are careless pack the dishwasher in really inefficient ways space wise. For example, the bowls on the bottom shelf are much better suited for the top shelf where they are turned at an angle to let the water run out. On the bottom they are taking space from bigger dishes and pans and are going to have dishwater left in them after the dishes are done.
So on one hand it is a good design because it allows you to wash practically anything, but to put maximum dishes and save water, you have to know something about how to load a dishwasher.
