Something that's really interesting to me is that kids are unintentitonally pensive, thoughtful and curious. They don't need much in front of them to really grasp on to very simple things. They look closely and observe. Here's a picture of a child with a map on her lap. While she doesn't really know EXACTLY what she is looking at, she's focused, intent and observant.
Our project focuses on just that. On children taking a closer, more focused look on what's in front of them. By altering a magnifying glass, extending that metaphor into a device that captures what the child is concentrated on, we can begin to make some sort of meaning for them. It's a great way for kids to tell stories.
