The first picture depicts a congregation of notes to package deliverers at the entry of an apartment complex. Once a few were up, others decided to add their own to the same section of the window. Deliverers also post slips in the same area. This shows how people tend to mimic others and take advantage of places that get a lot of traffic like entryways, hallways, etc. For our project we would like to place our visualization of physical activity data/trends in a common area like this so people will take notice of it frequently and check their progress. Hopefully it will become a habit to look at the display when they pass by.
The second picture is just for fun. I found a dog whose leash was draped over a pumpkin stem outside of Yasai market on College Avenue. Not the most secure situation, but a very cute and seasonal way to take advantage of the physicality of the produce-filled environment.
