1) What is happening in the scene?
Godiva Bear usually reads his iPad sitting upright. The stand/case combination allows Godiva Bear to view the device because he cannot hold it up himself. On occasion, though, Godiva Bear will get tired of sitting due to neck/back strain and lay on his side. The affordance granted by the case is that it can also be flipped onto its side. This is a use for the case that was not outlined by the manufacturer, but is a Thoughtless Act for Godiva Bear. He still wants to use his iPad while he is laying down on his back, though; which would be a more ergonomic experience.
2) Possible physical and/or virtual design solution:
A possible physical design solution is this overhead iPad display, which supports the device from above. This allows Godiva Bear to watch videos and read without strain on his arms. It is rotatable, and the arm pivots 180 degrees to a position Godiva Bear will enjoy.
