Thoughtless Acts

1. Sleeping in class: a lot of people falls asleep while in class or while they are studying. It probably because they are very tired or the lecture is very boring. Some possible solutions: instructor can make lecture more interesting by cracking jokes or make interesting slides. Students should not sleep very late so they get enough sleep.

When I went to bookstore at Bancroft, I saw a girl who was running stopped suddenly, stepped on a panel aside  a shop and tied her shoelace. She made use of the panel in thoughtless. 

Here are some examples of design solutions that I have either created myself, purchased, or have seen in use that have probably evolved from thoughtless acts but then became the basis for a solution.

1) Hanging Device for Air Drying Shoes

Cups are left on top of the fridge after being used, whenever you want to refill the cup with water from the fridge, its conveniently located.

The couch located right next to the entrance is used to hold the books that are going to be used during the day of classes.

Since there is trash can for recyclables, the spaces next to the trash can are used to store cans and other recyclables.

Thoughtless Acts

1) Tree Branch: An afternoon on campus, I saw a man lying down on a low tree branch, relaxing and getting some shade.

2) Outside South Hall, a fellow I-Schooler was eating an orange. Since there was no trash can near by, he collected the peels in a little heap on the ground in front of him, and once done picked up the peels and dumped them in the trash.
