Bookkeeping 1. We changed the title of this section from Basic Quiz Info to Bookkeeping Metadata. The users thought the Bookkeping Metadata title is more apprepriate for this section. Screenshots
2. We moved the Additional metadata button to a new location (above the template). Since this feature pertains to adding metadata to the template at hand, we wanted to make this link more notice-able.
3. We replaced the Use Templates button by an expanded, bulleted version with three entries: Edit Template, Change Template, New Template. The users expressed the need for these links when using the template feature.
4. We added a description of which template is currently in use at the top-right. When the templates page came up, during testing, some of the users were unsure of which template they were viewing.
5. We moved the title of the page from the bottom-right to the top, above the template. The original position of the title was out of place.
Metadata Templates 1. We moved the Available Templates section from the left side of the screen to the right side of the screen. We felt that the user’s focus should be more towards the central part of the screen, where the actual template is located. Screenshots
2. We have the name of the default template above the template itself. We want to clarify what is being presented to the user.
3. We put the Edit button above the template, as well as added a Delete button. We want to allow the user to delete the current template from the template list.
Instructor Notes We replaced the faceted browsing interface with a single list of clickable metadata. The users significantly downsized the amount of metadata needed. Screenshots
We included a window that appears with a textbox, giving the user the option to include added notes about the selected piece of metadata. The users wanted to be able to have a feature that allows them to elaborate on the selected metadata.
Cognitive Learning Metadata (new) We added a Cognitive Learning Metadata section to our interface. The user expressed very high interest to be able to tag each individual question of a specific authored quiz activity with information on cognitive learning. Screenshots
We changed the layout of the metadata from a horizontal arrangement to vertical. Since the users suggested that the future metadata list may increase, a horizontal layout would be too spread out to view.
We combined metadata term selection window and additional notes into one window. We wanted to keep these features together, in order to let the user know that they are related.
We added a quiz overview section. This is to allow the user to view and select each individual question for tagging.
The Metadata Search bar (new) We added a metadata search bar that lets user quickly locate metadata in the metadata tagging tool. The users expressed very high interest for this feature. Screenshots
Improved Site Navigation features (new) We added a breadcrumb navigation feature and a prev and next link that lets user more conveniently navigate in the metadata tagging tool. The users expressed very high demand for being able to navigate more conveniently. Screenshots
