Goals Handed to Participants

Goal 1: Get Information on Air Quality

You are a public health official working for Marin County. Your current project is to do some investigation on air quality in Marin County as the number of complaints has been rising. You want to use the Healthy Communities system to find out how Marin County is doing on air quality in general. You want to view current as well as old data. You also want specific information on how Marin compares with other Counties, and to find local organizations that might have more information on air quality.

Please go through the process of how would you find out the information on our paper version of the proposed system.

Goal 2: Share Information with Others

Based on your analysis from goal 1, you have found out that Marin is really doing poorly on air quality. You want to discuss with other people/professionals interested in air quality to see what can be done to improve the situation. You want to email others the information you have found. You want to print a copy to post on the office bulletin board. Furthermore, you want to view others’ opinions on how to improve air quality and post you own opinions.

Please go through the process of how you would share the air quality information with others by email, printing, and reading/leaving opinions.

Goal 3: Find out how Marin is doing on Other Community Health Related Topics

Your project for air quality has been completed. Now you need ideas on another Marin County public health project. Some possible areas of interest include water quality, recreation facilities, and crime rates. How would you find information in those three topics using the Healthy Communities System?
