You are at work on a slow afternoon. You just bought a new
Handspring and you'd like to try new applications for it.
You are planning a 10-day trip with a friend to San
Francisco and recently heard about an Internet application called TraveLite
that allows you to customize a travel guide and download it to a PDA. You go to
the TraveLite site and try to get an idea of how it all works.
Each of the following tasks is numbered. Please tell the facilitator when you are
ready to begin each task and when you have completed each task.
Task 1:
You are at the TraveLite home page, you’d like some
introductory information on the site. Try to find answers to the following
questions:
You are convinced and decide to create a guide for your
upcoming trip.
Task 2:
Try to start a new guide for your destination (San
Francisco).
When creating your guide, please
follow these guidelines:
After a few minutes of working on your guide, pretend your
boss has just come by to remind you that you have a client meeting in 5
minutes.
Task 3:
Try to save the guide to work on it later and leave the
TraveLite system.
Later that week at home…
You want to download the TraveLite guide you worked on
earlier.
Task 4:
Try to sign in to TraveLite.
Task 5:
Before you download your guide, you need to make one
change to the guide. You decided you would rather get your entertainment
information from the papers and locals' & friends' recommendations. Make
sure there is no entertainment/nightlife content in your guide.
When working on your guide,
please follow these guidelines:
Task 6:
Try to get a peek at your guide before you download it (just to
make sure you've got what you want).
Task 7:
Try to download your guide.
Task 8:
Leave the TraveLite system.
