Title: New York Colony paper money
Printer: William Bradford, 1709-1711
Notes: The five shilling note and both ten shilling notes were of a 5000 issue
approved by June 8, 1709, to be receivable for taxes without interest. They were
printed from type with a top border scroll from a woodcut designed for indenture,
with signatures of Johannes DePeyster, Robert Lurting, and Robert Walter. The
twenty-five shilling note of the same general form was issued on November 1, 1709,
to be receivable for taxes with 7.5% interest, which was subsequently revoked.
Johanes Jansen was an additional signer. The same general form was used and the
same signers appear on the four shilling note, which was approved by July 26, 1711.
