Please participate in the class discussion forum. Each week discussion issues relative to the material covered in class will be posted. Also, you are free to post your own questions or issues.
Submitting: Please email homework answers to is106-hmwk@sims before class time on the due date. Also pls put the due date of the homework you are submitting in the Subj heading. Answers in the email body or email attachments in MS Word are acceptable, but please use the file naming convention:
is106s99_hmwk_<your initials>_date.doc
so that we can keep them straight.
Group submission: You are encouraged to work together on the homework in groups of two or three (but no more than three). You can submit a single homework assignment for the group, but be sure to display the names of all group members prominently at the top. The purpose of this is to learn from one another, so do work collaboratively rather than just divide up the work!
Formulate a question that you would like answered, present it to the following search engines (which have different levels of sophistication, some of them "bleeding edge"):
Cha-Cha (here you have to ask question pertaining to the Berkeley campus)
Describe the differences between the type of answers you got, and how useful you believe the returned information was.
