Audience Analytics and the Rest of the Iceberg

Abstract

Whether you optimize your site, serve ads, build predictive models or identify patterns in online user behavior for fun, you need audience segmentation and a healthy dose of corresponding analytics. We will take a closer look at audience analytics and talk about what it means to have actionable data, particularly in the advertising world. While analytics is only the tip of the iceberg, big data systems, choices of algorithms, availability, reach, id synchronization, and ultra-real time data stores are some of the gears that must turn to make it all work. We will cover these topics and look into the ways analytics and data science are changing the online data ecosystem.

 

 

Bio

Lucian leads Analytics and Data Products at BlueKai, the largest marketplace for data, built with fairness, transparency and consumer control in mind. At BlueKai, he leads a team of engineers, scientists and analysts, leveraging big data analytics, scalable algorithms, and predictive modeling to turn data into products. Prior to BlueKai, Lucian lead the patient data search engine and information extraction efforts in the Siemens Knowledge Analytics group. Lucian holds a Ph.D. in computer science from Carnegie Mellon, where he focused on applied machine learning.
