An Introduction to Business Analytics David Steier Deloitte LLP Dr. David Steier is a Director in Deloitte LLP, where he leads a group in the U.S. Deloitte Analytics Institute focused on advanced analytics and visualization. The group has ongoing solutions development efforts in retail, financial services, the public sector, and health care. David specializes in applications of artificial intelligence, especially in data mining, software engineering, and knowledge management. He has authored or co-authored numerous publications and presentations in these areas, including two books, a dozen journal papers, and a dozen conference papers and workshop presentations. Prior to joining Deloitte, David worked at PwC, where he served as director of the Center for Advanced Research, and previously as a managing director at Scient, an e-business services consultancy. David holds a PhD in computer science from Carnegie Mellon (where he served on the research faculty for three years after getting his doctorate) and a BS in computer science from Purdue University.
