Tennis Ball Container

In this scene, a tube container that is meant to store four tennis balls stacked on top of each other is being used to store a cellphone and sets of keys. While the individuals are playing tennis and using the balls that came in the tube, they've put their valuables inside the container, instead of leaving them on the bench. The individuals do not want to carry their valuables in their pockets while they run around on the court, thus causing them to take them out. They may feel that the valuables are more secure by being placed into a container and not being left exposed on the bench.

A possible solution may be to create a little box attached to the bench or near it where people can store their valuables when they come to play tennis. This box could also be attached to the poles that hold up the tennis net. In both cases, these boxes allow for storage, while remaining in the lines of sight of the individuals playing tennis for security.

Standalone Drawer

Though this drawer has been removed from its original frame, it is still being used for its original function. The drawer has been placed on the countertop, and it keeps things more organized. The fact that the drawer has been removed from its original housing does not seem to bother the user at all.

Perhaps the original housing that had multiple drawers was too tall to be placed in the kitchen and on a countertop. Thus, the user took the drawers out to use them. A designer could create a less tall housing with drawers that fit on top of a countertop. This may better suit the user's needs.

New Lid for Cup

In this scene, a lid that was originally used for jar of jam is being used to cover a cup. The user is protecting the contents of the cup from the outside environment by using a makeshift lid.

Designers can gain inspiration from this scene perhaps by creating cups with optional lid attachments. These lid attachments may already be attached to the cup with a hinge, such as the lid of some teapots. These attachments may also just fit snugly on top the cup and come with the cup's purchase. A designer could also create different color lids that fit on top of the cup to personalize the drink and send the message, "This is my personal cup. Don't drink out of me."

Chair as a Desk

In this scene, a rolling chair is being used as a desk to hold a laptop. This rolling chair can be pulled towards someone seated on the couch, so he or she can use the laptop while being seated. Once the individual is finished using the laptop, the chair can be rolled away.

Designers can use this as inspiration that people may want to use a computer for short periods of time while sitting on the couch. Light-weight computers such as a tablets may have been inspired by this scene. Designers could create mobile desks that individuals can use while on the couch or in other seated positions.

Sweatshirt Hanger

A sweatshirt is being slung over the arm of a stationary chair for temporary hanging. The user will likely retrieve the sweatshirt after a short period of time, or he or she may start to pile clothes on the chair's arm.

New racks that can easily appear to provide space to hang onto clothes and disappear to not take up space could be designer. These racks could be very useful as temporary clothes storage.
