Info 202 Fall 2011

I came across this odd post on Twitter's @NPRfood. The one thing all tweets had in common is that they all clearly relate to food, except one titled "Turkey feels pressure to act on Syria". Somehow the "Turkey" part had been classified under food so I followed the link and, sure enough, thats not what the article referred to. The post on the site was listed under world news and "Turkey" here was a country, not a bird. What was unclear to me is whether this was a human or machine classification error. Could  NPR be using some form of text analysis that mistakenly identified the terms as the wrong type of Turkey?
