Google Voice Speech to Text Transcription of Voicemail (with examples!)

As some of you are probably aware, the Google Voice service will automatically transcribe your voicemail using Google's speech recognition technology - it was mentioned in one of Emily's blog posts.

The results are... mixed. I've shared two examples out of my account. The software does a surprisingly good job with the longer file from Ken (note, some strong language), while it misses almost every word in the short message from Pam.

Edit: looks like embedding isn't working - I've attached the two messages as audio files (see attachments). Here are the text transcripts:

From Pam:

Hey hon, it's Tim right now. Call me and back.

From Ken:

hey ian it's ken i just got your message i just realized it showed unfortunately i am in upstate new york right now at friend's birthday thing that's weird because i don't know forest i'm not anyway so of course i probably won't make it back in time for that but i will ping you when i'm back in town bye bye
