This painting is one of a series portraying a one-room district school outside of Cragsmoor, New York. The painter executed the series to portray the issue of state civil rights legislation, passed in New York in 1873.
Description: Oil on canvas, 13 and 1/2 x 17 7/8. Signed and dated.
